On February 10, 2018, police officers Anthony Morelli and Eric Joering were shot and killed while responding to a 911 hang up call. This Sunday will mark once year since then.

This week, the community is showing its support for the Division of Police with blue lights and blue ribbons. Before he retired, 10TV sat down with former Westerville Police Chief Joe Morbitzer who says the officers will never be forgotten.

"It's our obligation to live the legacy Tony and Eric left us because everyone knew they were good guys, but they didn't know the extent to how good they were,” he said.

Westerville police have meticulously archived all the memorials, gifts and condolence cards that came from across the county when the officers were killed. Many of those items are on display throughout the police department.

The Grace Chapel Community Church in Westerville is hosting a special "Let your blue lights shine" service honoring Officers Joering and Morelli (check spelling)
