Police search for suspect that robbed a Footlocker in Whitehall

WHITEHALL -- Police are looking for a suspect that they robbed a Footlocker store in Whitehall, in this week's Crime of the Week.

On September 8, 2018, a black male suspect went inside the Footlocker store in the 3700 block of East Broad Street and displayed a black handgun, according to police.

Investigators say the suspect then pointed the gun at an employee behind the cash register and told him to put his cell phone on the ground. The suspect then went behind the cash register and attempted to operate the register. He knew he needed an employee code and asked the employee for his employee number.

The suspect got the register open and removed the money. He was last seen running on foot from the business.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot, skinny, raspy voice. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, brown belt, and a pink cloth over his face. The suspect also walked with a slight limp.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the person(s) responsible for this crime. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
